Our cabin is nestled in the mountains at 8,700', between the Rocky Mountain National Forest(800ft away by foot) and the Arapaho National Forest( a few blocks away). The cabin is a few miles north of Grand Lake, CO. and just three blocks south of the west gate of Rocky Mountain National Park on County Road 491 at Sun Valley Ranch. It is located on Sun Valley Lake ( a private 22 acre lake), providing a great place to escape those hot, humid summer days. In the summer, the mornings are cool enough for a sweatshirt or jacket, while the afternoons are warm enough for shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. Fall begins in September as the aspen leaves turn a spectacular yellow and the elk begin bugling around the cabin. Winter isn’t far behind since snow usually starts falling in October lasting thru April (an average of 159 inches/year). If a white Christmas is on your wish list, our cabin will fit the bill. The cabin’s two wood stoves will help keep you warm while you enjoy this holiday with your family and friends. Come join us for your next getaway and enjoy nature at its best!
