Activities!
Those who enjoy the outdoors will truly appreciate our Rocky Mountain Lodge. Spend your time watching elk graze in the front meadow during the morning and evening hours or drive into Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) (only 5 minutes away) and observe elk, mule deer, big horn sheep, and moose throughout the day. Hikers can walk out the door and are within 1/2 mile of Arapaho National Forest trails or drive into RMNP and have access to numerous trails. If you like to ride mountain bikes, motorcycles, atv’s, or 4 wheel drive vehicles, you have direct access to mountain trails in the Arapaho National Forest. Anglers have access to our private trout lake (right behind the cabin) which is stocked annually and you’re not required to have a fishing license! If river fishing is more your style, the Colorado River is only a few hundred yards away via our private easement. RMNP also has numerous lakes where you can fish (a fishing permit is required on the river and in the park). Our neighbors provide a horseback riding service which takes you into RMNP. They also offer Chuck Wagon dinners. Other activities within a few, short minutes of our lodge include golfing, whitewater rafting, fishing, and wildlife viewing. No matter what your favorite outdoor activity is, there are rental places in Grand Lake to assist and equip your needs.
If you like to shop, you are sure to find the perfect souvenir or gift at one of the numerous shops in the nearby town of Grand Lake. Take a break from shopping and stroll down to the boardwalk to watch the sailboats on beautiful Grand Lake, or rent a boat and relax on the water.
